Wildlife Sanctuary & Travel to Pacific Coast

Today you'll leave Monteverde behind and continue towards the Pacific beaches of Tamarindo. En route, visit a Wildlife Sanctuary for an up-close animal experience on rescued Costa Rican wildlife, where you'll learn about sustainability and eco responsibility and create more awareness of the threats and measures Costa Rica faces in regards to conservation. Visiting this wildlife centre, you can see how dedicated staff and volunteers work to rehabilitate injured animals like monkeys, deer's, pigs and even otters as well as birds and especially wild cats, that roam the grounds of the Miravalles, Tenorio and Rincon de la Vieja volcanic areas located in the background. On your visit you will receive information about the native animals for whom the sanctuary has become their home, learn about their behaviour, natural history, ecology and learn the stories behind their rescue and why they couldn't go back to nature. Then continue your journey onwards to Tamarindo on Costa Rica's Pacific Coast. Tamarindo has some of the best beaches on Costa Rica's Pacific coastline. The long, golden sandy beaches of Tamarindo are separated from the neighbouring beach of Playa Grande in the north, by the Matapalo River which is part of the Tamarindo Wildlife Reserve. The town of Tamarindo is a vibrant beach town. A perfect spot to enjoy the costa Rican beach live and some beautiful sunsets.
