Between 3100m and 4450m above sea level, the park offers atundra-vegetation on a jagged landscape of hills and valleys. The name "Cajas" is derived from the Kichwa word "cassa" meaning "gateway to the snowy mountains". It is one of Ecuador's most beautiful nature reserves. Cajas provides about 60% of the drinking water for the Cuenca area. The landscape of El Cajas is unmistakably glacial in origin.The Cajas National Park is home to a large variety of animals, some of which areendemicor highlyendangered such as the South American condor, raptors, hummingbirds, pumas, bats, foxes, many amphibians, insects and many more. After this, you will continue the way to Guayaquil City which is the biggest city of Ecuador and is known as "The Pearl of the Pacific". It is a city with a great commercial tradition and is becoming more and more popular as a tourism destination. Today you will explore the city by walking with your bilingual guide and receive background information on the most important sights. Finally, you will be transferred to Hacienda La Danesa where you will stay for next 2 nights.
