Transfer to Agra and the Moonlit Garden
In the morning, you will be driven to Agra, where you will be taken to your hotel for check-in. Agra, home to the iconic Taj Mahal, is one of the most artistically significant cities in the world. Its cultural value is further highlighted by three UNESCO World Heritage sites: the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and Fatehpur Sikri. In the early afternoon, you may choose to visit the Sheroes Hangout Café. The women behind Sheroes are survivors of acid attacks who have fought to reclaim their lives. Now, they define themselves as "fighters", carrying their scars with strength and resilience. This café is more than just a gathering space; it is a hub for empowerment. It functions as a readers’ café, a workshop for activism, a community radio station, and an exhibition space where art created by the survivors is displayed. Sheroes Hangout was founded by the Stop Acid Attacks campaign in 2013. This initiative not only provides a platform for women to redefine beauty but also addresses the role of appearance in society through various programs and discussions. Later, visit Mehtab Bagh (Moonlit Garden), located on the eastern bank of the Yamuna River. Mehtab Bagh is one of the eleven Mughal gardens along the river and offers a stunning view of the Taj Mahal. The garden was originally established by Emperor Babur, long before the Taj Mahal itself was built. It has since been restored to its former glory, making it an ideal spot for viewing the Taj. The landscape artists carefully replanted the trees and plants to match the original Mughal designs, incorporating 81 species used in Mughal horticulture, such as guava, hibiscus, neem, and citrus fruits, as well as ornamental plants like maulshri and kaner.
