Tigre Parana River & Delta
From the city center it's a 50-minute drive north to reach Tigre, a vast region spread over 5,400sq m. Here, the Parana River flows down into the Rio de la Plata in the form of a delta, creating countless sedimentary islands that are carpeted in lush forest and grassland. Listen to our expert guide as they tell us all about the exotic flora and fauna that thrive here, and the people who made this natural wonderland their home. You will encounter riverside villas, Victorian docks, English gardens, traditional rowing clubs and the Museo de Arte de Tigre, encased in a beautiful Belle Epoque building. If time permits, we will also visit the atelier of artist Sebastian Paez Vilaro, a Uruguayan artist who now lives and works in Tigre and will be delighted to show his impressive bronze and copper sculptures (by appointment only).
