Naxos Guided Tour
Your driver and guide will pick you up from your hotel for a journey through the culture, landscapes, and traditions of Naxos. The day begins with a visit to the Kouros statue, an unfinished ancient sculpture that offers a glimpse into the island’s long artistic heritage. From there, travel through a series of villages, each with its own character and flavors. In a quiet, lesser-known village, enjoy homemade local specialties such as traditional pies, Greek donuts known as "tiganites," and a selection of honey and herbal drinks. Continue to Apeiranthos, a mountain village known for its charm and culinary traditions, where a meal of seasonal salads, Naxian meat dishes, and the island’s famous potatoes is paired with local cheese and wine. The tour then moves on to Chalki, the island’s former capital, where a visit to a 120-year-old distillery provides the chance to taste Naxos’ signature citron liqueur. While here, savor a slice of "galaktoboureko," a custard-filled pastry that has become a local favorite. Along the way, take in the scenery of the island’s marble quarries and rolling hills before returning to your hotel. Later in the evening, take time to unwind by the beach or pool before heading into town. Just before sunset, make your way to the Portara, the towering 2,500-year-old marble doorway of the unfinished Temple of Apollo. Overlooking the Aegean, this spot offers one of the most stunning sunset views on the island. Afterward, enjoy dinner in town and end the evening with a cocktail at one of its rooftop bars.
