Lake Sevan - Sevanavank Monastery - Cheese Farm - Silk Road Caravanserai

After breakfast, you will be driven to Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in the world, known for its strikingly blue waters and stunning scenery. After taking in the breathtaking views, there is a visit to Sevanavank Monastery, located on the Sevan Peninsula. The site includes two monasteries, one of which is in ruins, while the other remains intact. Both were built in the 10th century during the Middle Ages. Next, you’ll stop at the Mikaelyan Family Farm, where the family has been producing unique Armenian cheeses for several years, including wine-cheese, cognac-cheese, "horac," and parmesan-style varieties. Your journey then takes you along ancient trade routes once traveled by merchants on the Great Silk Road. You’ll visit the Selim Caravanserai, an important stop for traders during the height of the Silk Road, where you can see the well-preserved stones that have withstood centuries of commerce and cultural exchange. You will spend the night in Goris.
