Kampong Khleang and Phare Circus Tour
This morning, visit Kampong Khleang, a traditional stilted village located about 55 km east of Siem Reap. Travel by private local boat to see one of the most authentic communities on Tonlé Sap Lake. During the dry season, tall wooden houses rise high above the ground, while in the wet season, the village appears to float as the waters reach the base of the homes. Kampong Khleang is home to fishing families who live among flooded forests and rely on the lake for their livelihood. Enjoy lunch at a local homestay and experience warm Cambodian hospitality. In the afternoon, cycle along peaceful trails through rice fields and small villages. Learn about local customs, sample traditional snacks, and discover how Cambodian rice wine, known as Vodka Cambodia, is made. End the day by watching the sunset over the countryside before returning to Siem Reap. In the evening, attend the Phare Cambodian Circus, an energetic show that blends live music, theatre, acrobatics, and storytelling. The talented young performers from the Phare Ponleu Selpak organisation share inspiring stories from Cambodia’s culture and history through their art.
