Gaudi Tour Walking Tour & Modernist Torres I Grau Apartment

For your first full day, you will begin a three and a half hour walking tour of Gaudí’s Barcelona, with taxis included if needed. The tour focuses on the period when Antoni Gaudí and his contemporaries reshaped the city during the Catalan Renaissance in arts and literature. You will start at the Sagrada Família, Gaudí’s unfinished masterpiece and one of Barcelona’s most recognized landmarks. The monument reflects the work of Gaudí alongside contributions from other architects, sculptors, painters and craftsmen who transformed the city at the time. You will then pass by Casa Milà, known as La Pedrera or “the quarry,” a stone building with flowing forms that houses private apartments. The tour concludes with an interior visit to Casa Batlló, originally built for a wealthy businessman. The building showcases Gaudí’s private work with imaginative shapes, bold colors and detailed craftsmanship. Food and drinks are not included. At 5pm you will enjoy a one and a half hour visit to a private Modernist apartment by Torres I Grau, a contemporary of Gaudí. Your hosts, a retired architect and his wife, will guide you through the apartment’s design and history, sharing insights into Barcelona’s Modernist movement. Tea is included. Several scenes from Almodóvar’s All About My Mother were filmed in the flat, including rooms, hallways and the staircase.
