From Olympia to Nafpaktos

Your day begins with a hotel pick-up as you head toward Ancient Olympia, one of the most famous archaeological sites in Greece. As you arrive at the site, a guided tour of Olympia takes you through its remarkable ruins. Olympia was once home to the original Olympic Games, and you’ll step into the past, exploring the Temple of Hera, where the Olympic Flame is still lit today for the modern Games. The Temple of Zeus, which once housed the Golden and Ivory statue of Zeus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, is another highlight. The original stadium and Bouleuterion, where athletes swore an oath to follow the rules of the Games, are also key points of the tour. After the tour, continue your journey toward Nafpaktos, a charming town on the Corinthian Gulf, known for its blend of history and beauty. Nafpaktos has stood for over 30 centuries, and its landmarks reflect its long and storied past. The town is nestled at the foot of the Pindos mountain range and is dominated by the impressive Venetian castle that overlooks the harbor and the sea. The picturesque Venetian harbor is a perfect place to relax with a coffee under the shade of the plane trees, offering a view of the sea and the castle. If you're up for a bit of adventure, take a walk from the harbor up the cobbled streets to the castle. Along the way, you’ll pass through lovely neighborhoods with blooming gardens and reach the 15th-century Botsaris’ Tower, now a museum. Alternatively, unwind at the blue-flag beaches of Nafpaktos, Psani and Gribovo, both offering clear waters and shaded areas with centuries-old plane trees.
