Guided Safari Eastern Llanos Reserve

Spend the day on a guided safari through the reserve, beginning with a short canoe crossing over the Ariporo River. Once across, you'll board jeeps to explore a variety of landscapes including open plains, woodlands, and wetlands. Each area supports different forms of wildlife, offering many chances to observe animals in their natural environment. The region is home to a wide range of species. It’s common to spot capybaras, deer, caimans, and wild horses along the way. You may also come across Palmero bears and Coliblanco deer. More than 200 species of birds live in the area, including herons, egrets, owls, and ibises, filling the landscape with sound and movement. Cattle from nearby ranches also roam freely across some parts of the land, contributing to the area's distinctive atmosphere. During the dry season, sightings of jaguars, pumas, and even anacondas are sometimes possible, though they tend to remain well hidden. The pace of the day allows for plenty of stops to take in the surroundings, learn about the local ecosystem, and appreciate the variety of life found across the reserve. In the evening, return to the lodge to relax and enjoy a quiet night at Juan Solito.
