Discover Sozopol
After breakfast, you will take a guided walking tour of Sozopol’s Old Town. One of the oldest towns on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, Sozopol is also among the country’s most popular seaside destinations. Archaeological findings suggest that the town has a cultural heritage dating back 7,000 years. Well-preserved remains of the Saint Ivan (Saint John) Monastery complex, dating from the 10th to 12th centuries, can still be seen today. Other notable sites include the medieval basilica in the town center and part of the Holy Apostles Monastery, located on Skamniy (Rocky) Point in the northeastern part of the Old Town. Declared a museum-reserve in 1974, Sozopol’s Old Town is known for its charming atmosphere, with narrow cobbled streets and centuries-old wooden houses creating a timeless appeal. The afternoon is yours to relax and enjoy the beach and the sea. The Black Sea has a low saline content, around 16-17% in coastal waters, with minimal tidal fluctuations. In summer, the water temperature averages between 22°C and 24°C, reaching up to 26°C in shallower areas, making it ideal for swimming.
