Ancient Dougga & Zaghouan
After breakfast your guide will take you to the famous archaeological site of Dougga. The ruins located here are largely untouched and provide a picture of what ancient Roman life was like. This UNESCO World Heritage site is located on a hill with stunning views of the Wadi Khaled Valley. For lunch you will head to the quaint Verge des Montagnes Farm in Testour for a delicious local lunch made from food grown on site. After your meal you’ll have time to explore the unique town of Medina with its Andalusian style architecture. In the afternoon you will go to Zaghouan. An ancient town located at the base of Tunisia’s most beautiful mountain, the city maintains much of its unique and traditional charm. The Zaghouan aquaduct was originally used to move water to Carthage. Spend the night at the boutique Dar Zagouan Guest House. You’ll have a delicious local meal and meet the owner and chef of this delightful establishment.
